| Customer Reviews: measure the chamois size July 10, 2010 Lorne A. Runge (Syracuse, NY United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My Perl Izumi shorts measure 16x6 inches giving lots of protection over a wide area. The padding goes down your leg a bit thus preventing pinching of sensitive structures that occurs with narrow padding. I bought a pair of tri shorts measuring 10x2.5 inches which begin to pinch after an hour or two. Small areas may work well for sprint triathelons but if you plan on hours of cycling then the larger size seems necessary.
Great quality and price June 19, 2010 KBR (Minnesota, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These shorts are a terrific value. They have features that rival shorts of twice or three times the price.
At 200# the L fit me perfectly if just a little tight in the legs. The material is really thin and slick feeling (both good things),the quality of stitching and finishing is superb, and I'm told they look good too. Most importantly, the shorts have a great pad. I don't like too much padding and this one feels like a pantload off the bike; but on the bike everything finds the right place and it provides very good comfort on the sit bones and in terms of friction. These are my choice for any rides over one hour.
Best pair yet June 10, 2010 Alan D. Weitzsacker (Buffalo, NY USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is the most comfortable & best performing pair of cycling shorts I've owned. The last pair of another make had a similar style of padding that I got from my bike shop. These far surpass those and at a better price. Delivery was unexpectedly quick as well. I'll be buying a 2nd pair of these rather than switching between this better pair and my older breaking down shorts (one is 5 years old, the other only 2 years and is already breaking down).
I would recommend these to anyone who's looking for a new pair.
