Just as expected! May 27, 2010 K. Black (Rio Rancho, NM) Got my first issue much quicker than the 6 weeks quoted upon purchase and was pleased with that.
Just renewed a subscription that had lapsed a while back so I knew what I was getting. I prefer reading the personal stories of runners rather than loads of race reports but some issues are just that way....but that is my only complaint.
Overall very pleased.
Recommended October 8, 2009 Lion of Ions (New York City) This is a magazine about runners (i.e. not joggers) for runners. After ordering through Amazon I received my first issue in about 3 weeks: perfect. Oh, and I have the Amazon credit card, so my gift certificate afforded me the magazine subscription for free. For two years! That's hard to beat.
light years ahead of Runner's World July 18, 2009 Dr (Ecuador) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great running magazine, probably the best there is out there. If you're looking to subscribe to Runner's World, please do yourself a favor and don't. I was subscribed to RW for years, and every magazine was practically the same (how to get faster quickly! how to loose the fat! What to eat!... etc. and the thing is it keeps repeating itself forever).
RW is kind of a fashion-running-magazine (what nike was to running shoes until about two years ago when they decided to forego fashion and restart making serious running shoes).
Running Times, on the other hand is a serious a magazine as you can find in the subject (with the occasional -but better researched and written-- article about the fat, and the secret of getting faster).
Subscribe to this, and buy on the newsstand RW a couple of times a year... you'll be set.
A Good Running Magazine October 13, 2008 Diana Bennett (So Cal) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I subscribe to both Running Times & Runner's World. Although they are a bit different format, they are both just as good. Running Times is a bit thinner but is packed with alot of running stats and race information & dates. It offers alot of high school & college athletes, which is great if you're buying for a younger runner. It also has less ads than RW does. It's a great magazine with alot of running tips.
No Junk in this Magazine March 31, 2005 "Dory" (Sunny CA.) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I recommend this magazine to really learn techniques to improve your running level. There is not alot of filler in this small magazine. I find that this is the magazine I don't circulate with friends because I like to keep the articles for future reference. I learn something new each time.
