Awesome running shoe, but hardly any grip April 23, 2010 A. De Luna (Missouri) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been with Saucony for a few years now and I have yet to be disappointed. I've always worn trail running shoes and this shoe had a high review so I figured there wouldn't be much of a difference. Well... there is a major difference. These shoes don't squeak. And by that I mean there's no friction between the shoe and the ground. I'm so used to sprinting and making sharp turns that when I slipped attempting to do a routine turn my jaw dropped. I guess it's not Saucony's fault because it's a running shoe not a trail running shoe. Anyways, for running these things are the bomb. Like all the other Saucony shoes I've had, these things are as light as air. It feels kind of like wearing a sock. The arch lock is really supportive and a nice feature. I love the padded area around the heel box. When I run I can't feel the shock from each step. So if you're knew to Saucony, don't be shy. I promise you these shoes are among the highest tiers of running shoes. I just wouldn't recommend making sharp turns or running in the rain ;]
Oh yeah, I got the maroon color scheme...pretty sweet
Very comfortable running shoe September 13, 2009 Stephen M. Charme (Cranford, NJ United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I run about 1200 miles a year, so good running shoes are very important to me. I had been using the Nike Air Equalon +3, which is a great running shoe, but after my third set (I replace my running shoes every 400 miles) I wanted to try something else and bought the Progird Hurricane 11 at my local running store. It was a good decision.
These running shoes are very comfortable and cushioned, stylish looking (I bought the white design), and have a nice medium arch for an overpronator like me (if you don't know what this means or how to determine what kind of feet you have, just do a Google search). While these are not better than the Nike Air Equalon +3, they do have a somewhat different fit since I seem to "feel" the road a little more, which I like, though this is a matter of personal preference.
I am very happy with these running shoes and recommend them. Like many running shoes, they run a little small, so you need to try these on and can't just go by your street shoe size.
Update February 9, 2010: I just bought my second pair of these since it was time to replace my old ones. I am still very happy with these running shoes. I bought them on Amazon for $90.00, which included shipping (I have Amazon Prime), and was the lowest price around. These running shoes list for $140.00, so the Amazon price is really good.
Update June 16, 2010: I just bought my third pair. These are great running shoes, and Amazon still has the best price around.
Like the new version August 28, 2009 Jerome M. Nelligan (Orland Park, IL) I had been using hurricane 10, I actually like the 11 better, the new shoe liner seems very comfortable and the shoe has great support. It's the best training shoe I've had so far. I wouldn't mind a lower price though.
