Gender Specific Cushioning
Gender Specific Cushioning creates a distinctly unique ride by employing injected Solyte® rather than the standard molded midsole material. The advantage of the injection process is lighter weight and more consistent density in comparison to compression molded EVA. Not only does this help drop the weight of the midsole but the "dialed-in" density improves the forefoot road feel. I have been an Asics fan and customer ever since I started running more seriously, about 10 years, and 18 marathons ago. I appreciated the perfect fit, and the ultimate in cushioning, first in Cumulus, then in Nimbus.
I couldn't imagine wearing another brand of running shoe, and the odd experiment with Nike, Brooks, Reebok, New Balance, etc. only confirmed my belief that Asics was, and always would be, my shoe. Recently, I bought two pairs of Nimbus 11's, intending to rotate usage.
The first time I wore them, on a short (6 mile) run, a little internal nubbin created by the sewing joining two pieces of the shoe lined up directly over the first knuckle of my big toe (or, if you prefer, the tibial sesamoid of my first metatarsal). It rubbed a nice circular hole through the skin which bled all over my socks. A fluke I thought. I put on a Band-Aid, and tried again; different socks, tighter lacing; the other new pair -- each time the skin opened up at the same spot. Asymmetrical lacing may be a fine idea, but for me, it creates a rubbed spot exactly where I don't need one (actually, that would be anywhere on the foot, but an area where skin stretches over the bone
is particularly bad). My Nimbus 10's also had asymmetrical lacing, but for some reason, did not have that little nubbin the elevens do. My foot is a little wide, but otherwise not unusual. I still love Asics, but I'm doing the mail-order thing to find a couple pairs of Nimbus 10's.
Moral: Poke your finger in your new Nimbus 11's before you buy, and if you feel a little bump over the tibial sesamoid, ask your Salesperson about the return policy.

If the shoe fits Wear it! Fits great and very comfortable. Have worn for running, walking and lots of raquetball. Second pair of Asics, they are very durable especially given I use them 3 to 4 times a week on the court.

Best sneakers ever. Light, cushioning, great for people with hard to find comfortable sneakers. I must have tried on 20+ pairs of Nike, Reeboc, New Balance, etc, and these were by far the best. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. they are also approved by the American Podiatric Association.

I love this shoe, I have bought a new pair every few months for 6 or 7 years. I'm a big guy, 250+. I'm not a runner,but I work 12 hour shifts including walking several miles and allot of time standing each night (all on concrete floors). Believe me when I say that I am allways looking for the most comfortable shoe that I can find. Several times through the last few years I have tried on all of the competitions "cushion shoes" and yes...walking shoes too, but time and again, nothing even comes close to the nimbus for me in cushioning without feeling sloppy.
A few years ago when they started offering this shoe in wide widths I thought that my searching was over, the regular widths are a little narrow for my feet. I thought, "I can buy this shoe from now on and be happy."
But, as much as I love this shoe there is one problem...after wearing these every day for several years, "I am sick to death of blue,siver and white shoes !!"
Because of this I will keep trying other shoes. If they would just offer the wide widths in the other colors it would sure save me allot of irritating shopping.
